{\noindent Dear Ms. Boyd:}
It seems that you did not rejoin the Rotterdam as you had intended and as
a result I failed to get any final directions as to how to submit my bill
for the cost of getting my computer to and from the ship.
I am enclosing copies of the shipping receipts which will show that I
spent $\$$73.50 in getting the computer to Los Angeles and $\$$191.19 in
shipping it from dockside in New York to my home. I also paid $\$$25 to
get the computer from my home to the San Jose air port but unfortonately I
neglected to get a receipt for this. The final total is $\$$289.69.
I did have one additional expense that you may or may not feel should be
charged to the Rotterdam. This was $\$$415.35 to have a suitable case made
to insure that the computer would stand the rough handling that it was
sure to get. The case arrived on shipboard unmarked but it did show the
effects of the conveyer belt unloading in New York when I retrieved it on
the pier. The case proved its worth and the computer was undamaged.
The trip was most interesting although having the computer on board proved
to be much more of a chore than I thought it would be.
